How to find great illustrations for your website and customize them to fit your needs?
In the moment of writing, we have at least one free template with nice looking illustrations used in the content, Lander. There are a lot of sources, where you can find great (and free!) illustrations, for this specific theme we used illustrations made by ManyPixels.
When you're on their Gallery page, you'll see something like this:
You can search for specific keyword if you already know what are you looking for (when theme was being created, we didn't), you can choose category, type and color.
For this specific template, we used only Type and Color filters, so if you want to find illustrations which are similar to these which are in the theme already, choose "Flatline" in Type field and pick any color you prefer, in our case it was "#4262EA" so if you like theme's default color, you can use this HEX code, it'll automatically color all illustrations on their gallery.
Once you found an image you like, just click it. There's a popup asking what file format you prefer, PNG or SVG, first one is a bitmap, second one is a vector file, which you can additionally open in your favorite editor (from Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, Inkscape to basic editors like "Boxy SVG") and this is what we did with first image you see on that template, a man in a suit.
When you download illustrations in SVG format, you can additionally customize them, adding or removing shapes, etc, like we did with first illustration on the lander theme, you can find the original using "linkedin" keyword in search field, we removed LinkedIn logo and replaced it with circle.
